POP UP WORKSHOPS IN YOUR AREA
HAVE YOU EVER WANTED TO CREATE YOUR OWN BONSAI?
Join bonsai expert Mason Keane for a hands-on, guided Bonsai & Brews workshop and create your own bonsai tree to take home.
We’re popping up at venues hosted by breweries, cafés, wineries and community spaces near you with relaxed, beginner-friendly workshops that are social, creative and a lot of fun.
No pressure. No pretense. No experience needed.
We supply all tools and materials, just show up ready to get hands on. Grab a brew, coffee or wine while you pot, shape and wire your very own bonsai.
Expect good laughs, great venues and a workshop experience that’s far from ordinary.
Spots are limited.
Bring friends. Craft beer. Craft trees.
2 Hours. 1 Tree. 100% Yours.
This is the workshop where you make something you can keep or gift to someone. Come alone or bringing mates along and meet new folks, you’ll leave with a bonsai tree you styled yourself.
Over two hours, bonsai expert Mason Keane walks you through potting, shaping, wiring. He’s been doing bonsai for 30 years and owns Bonsai at the Bay nursery in Jervis Bay.
Expect practical tips and the occasional dad joke. If you can use scissors without injuring yourself, you’re good to go.
We kick things off with a drink on us, grab a beer, a wine, a coffee, whatever you’re feeling, then get stuck in. By the end, you’ll have your own tree, a decent understanding of how to keep it alive, and access to ongoing help if you need it down the track.
Your new obsession is waiting to happen.

The Most Unexpected Thing You'll Do in a Brewery or café This Year - And the Most Rewarding.
Along with practical skills and a deeper appreciation for bonsai as a living art form, bonsai is part of the perfect garden. Plus, they’re ideal for small spaces, apartment living, or adding a living centrepiece to your home or workspace.
“We wanted to create something that slows people down a little, something creative, social, and a bit unexpected in a brewery setting.” says Mason Keane, co-founder of Bonsai & Brews.
Stop thinking about it. Book your spot and come make a tree.
We limit each workshop to 30 participants to keep things relaxed and hands-on. You’ll have space to work, time to ask questions, and won’t be fighting for elbow room.
Heads up though, spots fill up fast. If you see a session you like, grab it, or you’ll be waiting for the next round.
Create. Connect. Cultivate.
The Story Behind the Trees
ABOUT BONSAI & BREWS
We started Bonsai & Brews because we wanted to create something different, workshops that bring ancient bonsai craft into breweries, wineries, cafés, and community spaces where people hang out socially and is accessible to anyone. Bonsai offers big impact with a tiny footprint.
We’ve been growing this vision through successful workshops at venues across the community, always with the same goal, helping people disconnect from the digital grind and reconnect with something real. There’s something special in learning a new skill, and walking away with a living piece of art you shaped yourself.
Meet Bonsai Master Mason Keane, Co-Founder
Mason has 3 decades of experience under his belt at Bonsai at the Bay Nursery, where he’s mastered the craft, he’s also a former school teacher (don’t worry, the only cane that comes out is for digging soil!). You can catch him sharing his passion through live demonstrations and workshops at events like Floriade and the Royal Easter Show, where he shows audiences that bonsai isn’t just for experts, it’s for anyone curious enough to try.
Why Bonsai? Why Now?
Everything moves fast these days, but bonsai forces you to slow down. Perfect for apartment living, desk decoration, or bringing a bit of green into your world without needing garden space.
Join us for an evening that’s equal parts chill and skill, where good company and great conversation grow alongside your tiny tree.

Awesome workshop for anyone interested in a new hobby. Mason is an incredibly engaging teacher and very knowledgeable and passionate about bonsai. My friends and I had so much fun and would recommend to anyonePosted on Google David SewellTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had the pleasure of attending Bonsai and Brews with Mason at First Light Brewery. Mason is an extremely skilled educator and quite obviously a master in the art of Bonsai. The experience was well paced, emerging and well designed allowing you to learn as much as possible within the allotted 2 hour slot. Mason introduced and explained bonsai forms/technique and within 15 mins you are getting your hands dirty wiring your Bonsai. There is a calm tranquility to the experience where you feel connected both to the dexterity of making the Bonsai and the theory being explained. This is a difficult skill to master and Mason balances this beautifully. At the end of the experience I walked away with my first Bonsai as well as a solid understanding of how to access further learning if I wanted to deep dive further into the hobby. It was a calming and rewarding experience that I would suggest to anyone.Posted on Google Matthew PappTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
